If you have a foster child five and under, they can get free formula and food at commodities next to the food bank.  356-2199

Items from the food bank that are PUR (purchased) don't count toward your 150 lbs per child

Foster kids get the max Pell grant for college which will pay for the tuition at a state college.

Maintenance subsidies go until the age of 19 not the commonly believed 18.

Adults can be adopted advantages include sense of belonging, inheritance and in the event of death children can be willed to grandparents without courts orders.

Only family visits to SS office count toward mileage and that therapy visits do not. The only exception is if upon agreement from the child's caseworker and caseworker's supervisor the Foster Parent is asked to transport a child to their home school, which is outside the Foster Homes School District then this could be claimed.

Foster care family may be eligible to claim Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), a tax rebate from the IRS worth up to $4,400. The EITC is a federal tax credit for working families that earned less than $37,263 in 2005. Your foster care payments do not count as income when determining eligibility for the EITC. A foster child needs to only have lived with you for six months to be eligible. You may claim a foster child for the EITC even if you're unable to claim the child as a dependent. If you have a child that needs a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) if so you can get your CNA Certificate and medicaid will pay you.

 Shields Healthcare 2452 S Trenton Way # P Denver CO 80231 (303) 481-0188 offers free diapers and you just have to get a prescription from your physician that states how many pull-ups per month are needed and the scrip can be for as long as 1 year.  Shields will deliver them to your door!  Also, they will provide gloves if the prescription provides for that as well.
